Tour de Nez Outreach is a Reno-based nonprofit organization on a mission to re-create community around the bicycle. At the heart of this mission is LINK, a planned public bike share system. LINK will expand current public transit use and efficiency, and offer a low-cost, healthy alternative for commuters of all demographics. LINK is a collaboration between three Northern Nevada-based entities, TDNO, Reno Bike Project and Secure Storage Technologies. Bike share programs around the world are saving millions of pounds of greenhouse gases every year, increasing public transit use by up to 20%, and providing countless public health benefits.
When we ride a bike we not only save fuel, we connect with the world around us. We recognize its beauty. We see things, people, a community we wouldn’t otherwise notice. And we remind ourselves of the simple beauty of human power.
We can take back our world, our community, and our health with one simple, beautiful act: ride a bike.
